I’ve been keeping my eye out for the most wanted foundation for a long time now – The Ordinary Coverage Foundation. If you haven’t seen this already the foundation comes in two finishes and 21 different shades. When this was originally launched early 2017 it was reported a huge 25,000 people were on the waiting list. And since then it has constantly been selling out time and time again.
I have now managed to get my hands on it from a restock on ASOS and I thought I’d let you know what I think.
Shade Purchased – 1.1P – This is a shade for fair skin tone with pink undertones.
Size – 30ml
Finish – Dewy
Packaging – I think the packaging on this foundation is perfect, its really minimal and sleek. The bottle is really small but it has the standard 30ml of product. It also includes a pump and is really lightweight so great for travel.
The product – The foundation is a liquid form, It is a very thin and runny liquid which I would usually associate with a low coverage foundation. I applied this to my face and blended using a beauty blender. The product blended very well onto the skin with the beauty blender, I did prefer to use this rather than a brush as my brush did leaves marks in this, rather than blend out for an even finish. I did find that this did oxidised on my skin however as I brought a super pale shade this didn’t seem to matter too much, but definitely something to keep in mind.
The finish is dewy but not to the point where it looks wet, Because of how thin it is, it is also easily set with a powder. I also found it good to double set with a matte setting spray to stop this going anywhere. This foundation is buildable to a point but layering is not a good idea. Although with how full coverage it is, there is no need to build this up too much.
Final thoughts – I liked the coverage of this however it does need to be well set, that being said for the price I will be repurchasing this. It isn’t a holy grail or even a new everyday foundation but if I want a flawless base I will be reaching for this.
What are you thoughts? Is it worth the hype?
